FALL 2022 ROATAN MISSION UPDATE

Backpack Fundraiser for Kids at the dump & Elaine Curtis Learning Center opening soon with your prayers and support! PLUS many other praises below...

Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. – Psalm 127

We are excited to share some major updates on the ministries here in Honduras! We focus on Gospel centered ministries, church planting, quality education for kids and adults as well as medical and dental assistance. The Elaine Curtis Learning Center is almost here! First floor just needs finishing touches and to be outfitted with teaching supplies and desks. Second floor is roughed in and roof is on to keep all dry! The church and Bible studies are growing fast with God providing at each turn! Help us to finish the year strong with so many more tools and resources to share the gospel into 2023! 100% of all funds go to ministry!

Learning Center progress update!Praise God! The first floor is 85% complete with paint and windows just added! Our Calvary Community Church Mission Team just completed the second floor and roof IN JUST 3 DAYS with help from Bill Guzman and students of the Roatan Rehab! Situated on an acre lot just down from the local dump it includes a 68x24 ft 2 story building with classrooms, sewing areas, and conference room space. Roatan Votec has constructed a 24'x24' vocational classroom and office on the property. The soccer field is growing grass now and playground has been complete for a few months and is being enjoyed by kids from the dump and Kristal's Kids's Kupboard children's ministry. 2023 School Backpack Distribution! We need your help to get the neediest kids ready for school! Education is truly changing lives at the Dump! These children do not have resources to purchase the required items for public school. The uniform, shoes, backpack and supplies run $75 per child. We have 169 kids from the dump ministry community in need of help. So far we have received enough for around 30 kids. You make such a difference for them! School runs Feb1-Nov1. Funds must be raised by December 31 to buy the materials for the kids. Distribution will be around Jan. 20, 2023 at the new learning center. This is the ninth year God has put on the hearts of our donors to enable children to get an education. As they graduate they are getting jobs at resorts, security, restaurant and technical industries and pulling their whole family out of poverty and to a better life! SANTOS's STORY

Santos is a longtime worker at the dump in his late 60's. about 6 months ago he told us he was having glaucoma in both eyes and it was getting hard for him to see. A brigade was coming down so we made an appointment for him but unfortunately they only did exams and were coming back in March of next year for surgeries. He soon after was completely blind and God provided the funds to send him to the mainland to have surgery at a private clinic. He is seeing again and will have his second eye done in March. Thank you for helping us help Santos to keep seeing! He asked to convey his deep love and gratitude to God for providing and to those who gave sacrificially for him!CLICK HERE TO SUPPORT ROATAN MISSIONTravis preaches at R Church each week and it has continued to grow each year.
